we had a wonderful time at this spot in arcata! by far one of the best mexicans restaurants in the area

Ambiance is great. Wait staff is great. I attended a group birthday of 22 people every order different. The efficiency of delivering food to individuals was remarkable. The food was great too! I was so happy when we left the waiter had a hand held pos for each of to leave without a cashier fumbling to figure out bills. Will return in the future.

Great whole chile rellenos. I love the #10 combo, with black beans. Add a flour tortilla and some chopped up fresh jalapeño and cold beer; and I'm in heaven. Great service and good ambience. You can have your dog with you on the patio.

The restaurant is sort of off the beaten path and Arcata. I don't get thrown off because this place is not to be missed. This is our second time here and everything we've ordered off the menu was delicious. The restaurant is spacious and clean. It's low-key but definitely could host a party! The service is great too!

We're in town for the holidays and were so happy to give this restaurant a try. It was DELICIOUS & the staff was very attentive. We tried the chile relleno + molcajete + Huarache. My family and I live in Los Angeles and this place is definitely up there:)

Hands down one of the best Chicken torta (Order Pambazo) ever! The bread was dipped and grilled with spices and the chicken and inside sauces were amazing! We also ordered Tofu fajita which was good and we were delighted to find a vegetarian fajita with protein (Tofu) Highly recommended!

Food: The food was great, had two orders of Carne Asada Street Tacos and a glass of soda, was given a side of Salsa and Chips. Service: The waiters and cook were quite attentive to the place, checking frequently to make sure any guests that come in weren't waiting for too long to order, they were more along of what a traditional waiter would be. Seat customers if eating inside, take orders, bring orders, help customers when needed, give the "bill", clean up each table of the guest. What matters? The area in which I would be seated, up to heading to the restroom was clean. Ambiance: The decor, surprisingly, has a lively atmosphere and it contrast quite well with the colors that are inside the building. Enjoyed looking at it when I came in.

Surprised is the last emotion I want to feel when I'm trying to get a late night dinner when driving to my hotel for the night. El chipotle presented that emotion to me when I got their food. Holy crap. FOOD We ordered the 4 little tacos and asada fries. We were honestly shocked at how good they were. The tacos were your standard street taco style. The meat was tender and tasty. The seasoning was to perfection and how I would cook them as well. The asada fries were also amazing too! SERVICE The servers were amazing. They were nice and attentive. They were also very responsive as well. ALL IN ALL, this is an amazing spot for Mexican food. It honestly rival the great names in SoCal. The restaurant was decorated well and they were bumping club music. It was a fun and fantastic dining experience for me!

After a long pause we decided to try this place again. We had given up on it a while back but heard it changed hands a couple years ago. We were so happy we did! It's been many different Mexican restaurants over the years, originally was Fiesta Cafe. The latest, as of two years or so ago, is El Chipotle, but the menu couldn't keep its secret! It's one of the 4 restaurants in the Fiesta Cafe family. I was super excited to see my favorites in the menu: Pollo A La Crema, their authentic and flavorful Molé, and Chicken with Sliced Potatoes. You can't go wrong with any of these! Aside from the Pollo A La Crema most dishes, like the molé, you can have prepared as enchiladas, burrito, taco, or bowl/salad. And it's diner's choice: chicken, beef, seafood, or veggies. The possibilities are endless. The inside is a large bright open room, with extra seating on the side, in the back, or outside. Plenty of options depending on your mood or the number of folks in your party. The service was great, we were offered to sit anywhere we like, gave drink orders right away, and had chips and salsa in a flash. We didn't wait long at all for our food either. Everything was delicious, no regrets for our choices. Can't wait to go back for their breakfast! They have a full bar and happy hour specials too, if that's your jam.

We wanted to see if there was any Mexican food in NorCal that came close to the authentic Mexican food we have down in San Diego and el Chipotle delivered. Starting with the warm chips and 2 types of salsa, a large selection of margaritas and a huge menu overall, you'll have plenty of reasons to go back! I had Mary's margarita which is my preferred way to make a margarita: tequila, lime juice and Cointreau, no sweet and sour. It was excellent! The family ordered all over the menu. Street tacos, enchilada combo, and the massive carne asada burrito my son ordered. All were delicious. The green sauce for the enchilada was particularly tasty. Service was great and my wife stuck her head in the kitchen to let the cooks know how much she loved the food.
